The power of a little seed

When I was in Egypt this past January with my family and friends, visiting the spice markets in Aswan, it became so clear just how important spices are in not just culinary but the pursuit of health. For thousands of years, that's what our ancestors leaned into for everything from a headache, indigestion or infections to serious issues like infertility, diabetes and cancer.
I also know just how much education is needed in Egypt in these rural towns where people are barely getting by and children are working in the streets.
It reawakened a need that I see so desperately in the marketplace and that's true functional health and giving back for the good of others.
I've touched the food industry for over 30 years in my professional walk and it's clear that as we try harder to make food convenient, we go further away from anything recognizable in nature.
That's where the idea set in.
What if I could create a functional spice blend with hundreds of phytonutrients, including antioxidants, electrolytes, adaptogens and immune, digestion and pain relief boosters - and have it taste delicious! So good you would crave it on everything.
And that's how I created Superfood Sprinkle - the easy way to Elevate Your Plate with just a sprinkle of the world's most nutrient-dense ingredients, like kelp flake, mushroom powder (Lion's Mane, Reishi, Chaga), black and white sesame seeds, nutritional yeast, turmeric and many more.
The inspiration though, is this black seed called 'habbat el baraka' in Arabic - or 'the blessing seed' that is a miracle in many ways. The longevity secret of my ancestors, the ancient Egyptians, it was found in the tomb of King Tut for his journey to the afterlife, mentioned in the Holy Bible as a reference to God’s wisdom and touted as a cure-all by Hippocrates in ancient Greek times black cumin seed contains the powerful compound, Thymoquinone. It's an Anti-inflammatory, Antioxidant, Immune Supporter, helps with Digestive Health, Respiratory Health and has even been proven to shrink cancer tumors in published scientific papers.
So, there's the backstory of my this brainchild.
I hope you'll give it a try and sprinkle the love :-). We're donating 1% of all sales to the farmers who grow this blessing of a seed in the hopes we can also build schools for their children. I believe in the power of a this little black seed and with the faith of a mustard seed, we can grow that portion to 50%.
We can make the world healthier and better together. xChef Mareya
